“Ebenda” is the German word for “Ibidem”, latin for “Just there” or “At the very same place”.  I use the title for its shortness, literal playfulness – it also relates to an idea of place, presence and absence, as well as, a reference to our experiences of the year 2020. My paintings visually reflect on the events of the year without illustrating them.

In January, I had a pleasure to collaborate on a series of lithographic prints with Andrew Mockler from Jungle Press 
in Brooklyn.



An edition of 15 variable lithographic prints plus 8 artist prints were printed by Andrew Mockler at Jungle Press from   
January 8-11, 2020. Each print is on white Arches paper in the size of 30.25 x 22.5 in with slight variations except prints XII/XV and XV/XV, which are on light Rives Grey.

Some of the funds from the sale of these prints will go towards the production of an artist publication highlighting works of the past 10 years and is projected to be published in late 2021 or early 22.

Good Weather is honored and excited to participate in FAIR with a four-part presentation of paintings by Hartmut Austen and Ron Ewert.
As a way to honor the intrinsic camaraderie of the initiative, Good Weather is presenting four paintings that highlight the meaningful connection which has developed within our program between artists Hartmut Austen and Ron Ewert. Both artist have presented two solo exhibitions over the past six years with Good Weather: first at our original location in North Little Rock (Ron Ewert’s I would like to see what happens by Ron Ewert and Hartmut Austen’s Here r more), and second as a set of shows at Atlanta Contemporary as part of the On-Site series (Hartmut Austen’s Blurred Vision is just one of the Symptoms and Ron Ewert’s I'm getting too old for this shirt) by invitation from Daniel Fuller.

The New Art Dealers Alliance (NADA) is pleased to present FAIR, built in partnership with Artlogic. FAIR is a new art fair initiative designed to be entirely online, function cooperatively, and act as a benefit for NADA’s community of galleries, nonprofits and artists.

FAIR offers an alternative profit-sharing model, structured to facilitate mutual support within the art community and provide revenue to each of its participants during a time in which galleries have temporarily closed their physical locations. A percentage from each sale made from FAIR will directly benefit all participating galleries and artists. In addition, a percentage of each sale will go towards supporting NADA for their efforts in producing FAIR, their continued work as an organization for art galleries, through this time of crisis and beyond.
Each participating gallery will present a series of artworks over four-weeks with the opportunity to share new artworks each week, May 20 – June 21, 2020.

Hartmut Austen will present a selection of paintings and drawings in the exhibition titled
Künstliche und künstlerische Intelligenz (Artificial and Artistic Intelligence) with an opening reception on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 5pm.
